Known to the music world as Code Lei, Robert L. Woolridge Jr. is an astounding bassist, song writer and producer.

As a child growing up in the church on the Westside of Chicago, Rob displayed his love for musicianship and music at an early age. His father noticed his undeniable interest in the band and gave him his first musical venture as the church drummer. Surrounded by a musical family, it didn’t take long for him to develop an unorthodox palate in artists such as: James Brown, Prince, John Coltrane, and the Yellow Jackets. These well renowned artists set the foundation for Rob’s eclecticism in music.

Upon entering high school, Rob knew that he would need to embrace this love for music. He immediately joined Edwin G. Foreman's high school jazz band as the Bass Guitarist. With earlier experience and exposure, Rob showed himself to be a bit more advanced than his peers. This advancement caught the attention of his former band director, Mr. Marvin Davis. Due to his display of advancement, he earned a position as a leader in the jazz band. As lead, Rob developed an ear for every section of the band which gave him a broader musical perspective.

Rob’s unique sound has awarded him the opportunity to record, as a bass guitarist, on Byron Cage’s (Isolation), Bri Babineaux’s (Thee Encounter), Benita Jones (The Entreating) and Todd Dulaney’s Grammy Nominated (A Worshipper’s Heart). He has also shared the stage with JJ Harrison, Fred Hammond, and Jonathan McReynolds.

With an undeniable desire to expand beyond the stage Rob made his way to the Billboard’s top ten writers list. Co Writing the hit song “Deliver Me” (This Is My Exodus) by Donald Lawrence. Rob has now become a. Grammy Nominated, Stellar, Dove, and Ascap Music & Soul Award winning song writer.
